TOURISTS WILL BE TRANSFERRED TO THE KINGDOM OF URARTU USING VIRTUAL REALITY GLASSES

Journey to the Urartian world. In the “Erebuni” Historical-Archeological Reserve-Museum, now you can travel back thousands of years and participate in historical events using virtual reality glasses.

A 6-minute virtual journey is in 4 languages: Armenian, French, English and Russian. Tourists and visitors will be able to familiarize themselves with the historical heritage in their preferred language.

“Erebuni” historical and archaeological reserve-museum is one of the winners of the annual grant program of the Stepan Gishyan Charity Foundation.

“Faced with the challenges of time, museums are developing various functions to become more attractive to visitors. Applying new technologies through this program, we did our utmost so that any visitor will be transferred to the Urartian period and get acquainted with some episodes of the origin of our history. All of that will be impressive and memorable,” said Anna Gishyan, Director of the “Stepan Gishyan” Charitable Foundation.

“Thanks to the “Stepan Gishyan” Foundation, today we have the opportunity to have the only Urartian-themed VR glasses and program in the world. We show again that we are the owners of the Urartian heritage, and that heritage is owned not only by words, but also by actions. Wearing VR glasses, the tourist becomes a part of the Urartian ritual, appears around the “Susi” temple in Erebuni and participates in the groundbreaking ceremony, then the temple is built before your eyes, the scribes make the cuneiforms. Then you enter the temple and participate in the ritual,” says Mikayel Badalyan, Director of the “Erebuni” Historical-Archaeological Reserve-Museum.

The “Stepan Gishyan” Charitable Foundation was established by Acba Bank, French Credit Agricole, Credit Agricole National Federation and the Gishyan Family. The Foundation’s programs are aimed at strengthening Armenian-French relations, improving and perfecting Armenia’s socio-economic, scientific-educational, cultural and healthcare systems.
