Starting in 2023 the “Identity” Foundation has launched the documentation of centuries-old monasteries, churches and cultural monuments of Armenia.
Young people united around the idea of the Foundation overcome difficult roads, mountains and forests in order to document historical monuments.
As a result of the filming that has already been performed, the Arakelots Monastery, the Yenokavan Chapel, the Samson Bridge, the Kayan Fortress, Shativank, the Zorats Temple and other monuments of great cultural value have been documented.
The “Identity” Foundation is one of the winners of the annual grant program of the “Stepan Gishyan” Charitable Foundation. With the support of the Foundation, the necessary equipment was purchased to carry out the filming and editing work.
“The “Stepan Gishyan” Charitable Foundation attaches importance to the preservation, development and dissemination of Armenian culture. We have a rich culture with material and intangible values, which distinguishes the Armenian nation from other nations. Thanks to this initiative, our future generations will also have the opportunity to prove with facts what cultural values the Armenian people have,” noted Anna Gishyan, Director of the Stepan Gishyan Charitable Foundation.
“Our goal is to create and disseminate documentary films about culture. At the moment, we are focused on cultural and material values. We select according to 3 criteria: monasteries, fortresses, forts, bridges of great value, little-known and difficult to reach. Before cooperating with the Stepan Gishyan Charitable Foundation, as a result of fundraising, we had secured certain equipment with which we were filming. But there comes a stage when you want to improve the quality of filming and you already feel the need for additional equipment. Cooperation with the “Stepan Gishyan” Charitable Foundation was very appropriate: we acquired the latest generation of drones, with which we can get footage of a completely different quality. We also acquired an editing computer, through which we carry out editing work on the materials,” said Gagik Harutyunyan, the Founding Director of the “Identity” Foundation.
The “Stepan Gishyan” Charitable Foundation was established by ACBA Bank, the French Credit Agricole, the Credit Agricole National Federation and the Stepan Gishyan family. The Foundation’s programs are aimed at strengthening Armenian-French ties, improving and perfecting the socio-economic, scientific-educational, cultural, and healthcare systems of Armenia.
