THE HEMATOLOGY CENTER HAS BEEN EQUIPPED WITH NEW EQUIPMENT

The laboratory of the Hematology Center after Professor Yeolyan has been equipped with new equipment that will help to carry out genetic research in accordance with international standards.

The Hematology Center is one of the beneficiaries of the “Stepan Gishyan” Charitable Foundation in 2022. Thanks to the financial support, the Center acquired necessary equipment for its molecular biology department. Research is now underway to help develop a new treatment methodology.

The project will contribute to the development of genetic research and development of new therapeutic approaches and strategies not only in Armenia, but also outside the borders of the country. A DNA and RNA bank is being created, which is a long-term program that will allow developing new therapies for patients.

“Hematology Center after Yeolyan” is a unique specialized center that diagnoses and treats diseases of the blood system. This fact also enabled us to support this center, because the beneficiaries who should take advantage of this program are not only medical patients living in Armenia, but also foreigners. This center is of great importance for the region. It is important for us to support those programs that develop innovative solutions and are aimed at the development and improvement of the given sector, solving main problems,” said Anna Gishyan, Director of the “Stepan Gishyan” Charitable Foundation.

“Medicine is progressing and with time, the need for the newest, modern equipment becomes very necessary, so that the diagnosis is in accordance with international standards. If the diagnosis is not clear, the treatment tactics will also be different,” said Samvel Danielyan, Director of the Hematology Center after Professor Yeolyan.

“We started the program with the support of the “Stepan Gishyan” Charitable Foundation. The foundation gave us the opportunity to purchase DNA isolation kits: 80 refrigerators, autoclave. The main goal of the project is to create a DNA bank from the peripheral blood of malignant blood diseases,” noted Narine Ghazaryan, Head of the Molecular Biology Department of the Hematology Center after Professor Yeolyan.

The “Stepan Gishyan” Charitable Foundation was created by ACBA Bank, French Credit Agricole, Credit Agricole National Federation and the Gishyan family. The Foundation's programs are aimed at strengthening Armenian-French relations, improving and perfecting the Armenia’s socio-economic, scientific-educational, cultural and healthcare systems.
