The Observatory is one of the winners of the grant project announced in 2018 by the “Stepan Gishyan” Charitable Foundation. In addition to the 6th scientific school held in the observatory in addition to the joint project, the educational room was also renovated and equipped. The Observatory was equipped with a new digital telescope.
“Formerly the lectures were organized in Viktor Hambardzumyan’s study, which in terms of the area was smaller and not so comfortable. And here the room can accommodate about fifty people. The idea was very interesting, since 2017 they have launched this project regarding the scientific tourism and they were doing their utmost and undertaking various measures so that the branch would develop in Armenia, particularly, in the sphere of astronomy”,- pointed out in her speech Anna Gishyan, the Director of the “Stepan Gishyan” Charitable Foundation.
“The program of the scientific camp is, undoubtedly, is very diverse. Here not only lectures on astronomy are delivered, probably, from other scientific spheres, but also, for example, there are numerous interesting games, intellectual games. We organize visits, excursions not only to the Observatory, but also organize trips to near places of interest”, pointed out in her speech Areg Mikayelyan, the Director of Byurakan Observatory named after Viktor Hambardzumyan.
The “Stepan Gishyan” Charitable Foundation was founded in 2015 by ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK, French Credit Agricole, Credit Agricole National Federation and the Gishyan Family.
